Sandy Hogue and Lyette Belanger share much more than a passion for cutting and styling; they share a vision. A vision that hairdressing is felt before it is technically executed, that hair has something to tell those who know how to listen, and that true knowledge transfer happens in a training session, with our hands and on heads, not on a screen.
When they decided to join forces for a joint masterclass at L'Endroit, we knew we wanted to introduce you to their world even before April 13th.
We asked Sandy Hogue some questions directly. She responded with a frankness and depth that reminded us exactly why we created this space.

TRENDS & VISION
You both have been working in cutting and styling for many years. How does your interpretation of trends influence your daily work, and has it ever surprised you?
Becoming aware of what defines trends leads me to modify my approach to bring a current vibe. It always surprises me how a small detail can make all the difference!
PHILOSOPHY & CONTINUOUS TRAINING
You both have a very personal relationship with learning and sharing knowledge. What importance do you place on continuous training in a hairstylist's career, and how has this conviction influenced how you built this masterclass together?
I've always loved learning; it's my stimulation. Understanding is my "aha!" moment 🎇 Knowledge allows us to offer thoughtful, tailored expertise.
THE MASTERCLASS & COLLABORATION
Uniting your forces for a single day is a strong decision. What does this collaboration allow you to offer that neither of you could have brought alone, and how do your visions complement each other?
Lyette and I are like the yin and yang; we explore two different universes in the same space. We are shapes and textures, logic and feeling, technical and abstract. Our combined strengths allow us to explore beyond the subject, to evolve our work. We advance together 🤍

Beyond cutting and styling techniques, what impact would you like to leave on the participants of your day at L’endroit Suite 202 – a way of seeing, a reflex, something harder to name?
I don't want to answer for Lyette, but I'd like hairstylists to connect with hair, feel it, listen to it, and make it react to the touch of their hands! Hair has a lot to tell us.
KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER
Are there any exercises, moments, or methods that you specifically designed together to easily transmit this impact?
To facilitate the execution process, we establish the DOMINANT and position the CONCENTRIC. It is very important for us to enable hairstylists to be autonomous after the training, with reusable benchmarks.
